Cheetham: B Division
Cheetham Hill
There appears here within the W.C minutes some confusion in interpretation as to exactly what was rented or just proposed. It seems most likely that a house was rented at the Temple Toll Bar or Lodge area in 1849 although no suitable premises stands out on the 1849 OS map but expenses are noted in 1851.
Operational interest is raised for a lock up facility at the new Cheetham Hill Town Hall at Derby St which fits custom but nothing seems finalised. Other premises are considered before the landowner of the existing Temple Bar police station Elizabeth Law gives notice to quit in 1865.
Another premises on Derby Street Cheetham becomes the local station by 1889
