Nov 24th 1887 Resolved Kirkby St Station unfit for police purposes and desirable a new station be erected in the neighbourhood. City Surveyor to pursue.
July 7th 1888 To take properties at 103-111 Canal Street [previous spelling] and 1-9 Horne St New Islington for new station in lieu of Kirkby St. To buy from Mr Kershaw and Son 452sq yds C. Rent of £11.3.6d p.a. for £750 City Surveyor to prepare plans and include a mortuary. Building to be in brick not stone.
Issue remains of right of way to rear plot with hand carts. To obtain the ROW before sale by offering alternative access. 12’ passage agreed.
Tender to build Canal Street Mr Wallwork £2050.
Dec 6th 1888 Agreed purchase of land at agreed rates and ROW with a passage way with window and door onto it from adjoining premises.
March 7th 1889 To finalise purchase and settle claim for rent since agreement made.
March 31st 1889 Increase in the building tender due to rise in timber costs.
April 4th 1889 Sale of the building materials [clearance] on site. £44 by auction.
May 30th 1889 Agreement with Club adjoining passage to alter length og rear extension and back door.
Jan 23rd 1890 Now occupied in lieu of Kirkby St.
Feb 6th 1890 £9.10.0d for new telephone to new station.
Feb 29th 1890 WC now required.
March 11th 1890 A strong earthen ware WC to be fixed in each cell with 3 gall cisterns, 1 ½ “ flushing pipe similar to those already in Canal Street. £130.
April 30th 1891 Painting of the stations: £61.
July 23rd 1891 Twinquennial valuation of properties owned by the W.C only: £2,987
1895 Slater’s Cannel St 101 Police Station:
20th Feb 1896 Visit of the LUSC to assess the mortuary problem to remove the offensive smells. See below proceedings document form the dated sheets held at GMP Museum and Archive.

21st May 1896 Quinquennial Valuation and Inventory of Furniture of properties of the WC.

19th May 1898 LUSC: £60 estimate for small painting jobs by men in the premises
19th May 1898 City Surveyor to be instructed to obtain an estimate of the cost of fixing of glass fanlights instead of perforated iron ones at the various police stations. [believed this is to the cell doors such as Fairfield St PS] Tender £126.
1901 Caminada’s report details station as unnecessary with the building of Mill Street.
29th March 1900 LUSC: The substitution of a self acting w.c in lieu of those provided in the cells of the various police stations.
